Coming home to a welcoming and safe environment every day is what I look forward to. Living at Hale Mahana has been that and much more!!! This is also a great place for food and grocery shopping because we are so close to everything.
I think living in mahana is great. There are a lot of great ammenities such as the gym. The people are very friendly and it is a great environment.
The girl at the front desk with the dark brown hair is a bitch. Why does she even have this job if she has an attitude all the time. The washer sucks it smells and it’s never cleaned out. Gross stuff is sitting under the ring
Exceptional experience due to location and access to UH. Down to Earth, Verizon and the selection of food options being close makes for a great environment for college kids.
Easy, convenient close to KCC and UHM it has tasty restraints pet friendly it’s an amazing place and has great amenities. Customer service is improving for sure so that’s good overall it’s definitely improving and is a decent place.
Overall I feel that living in this apartment is good because of its location and amenities. It is right near the university, several restaurants and grocery stores which makes managing college life a little bit easier.
I like living here! Although I think the rent needs to be cheaper, it’s a safe and convenient location with a lot of great girls at the front desk to help you out!
Hale Mahana is the best student housing on the island! The staff here is amazing and so helpful! The apartments are fully furnished which makes living here so easy! I Will definitely refer this place to my friends!
Its great to have a building that's safe so that I feel comfortable living independently and still be so close to campus. The common areas on the roof are amazing. Parking can be a problem.
The staff is amazing and very helpful as well as the cleaning staff. The location is also very nice because of the all the food shops at the street level.
My experience has been a good one. The staff and residents are all very friendly. I always feel welcomed and involved in the community. My roommates are also amazing
Great place to live with fully furnished rooms- however the fridge is too small to share as well as the dishwasher with three people, and I’m living in a 4 person apartment. There’s no way it would accommodate four people
Very convenient location as a student at UH! I love that utilities are all included in the rent! However, some of the other residents can be a bit noisy.
My stay here has been okay other than the fact that the A/C unit has this weird smell despite changing the filter and the ventilation system is not that great because my towel is still wet after sitting in the bathroom with the door open.
nice, clean, but not satisfied with the washer and dryer outside the unit. I hope that in the future the laundry is in the unit. About the lock out is also another thing. I don’t think that residents should pay every lock out
Living here is fun, parking is easy to find but its expensive... $120 a month for parking is kind of a rip off. Also the 4th floor smells like dog and my friends always ask me why and I have no answer haha. My room is nice though how its already furnished and spacious.
I like it here, the rooms are very spacious and I live how each room is built in internet. The home gym feature also helps me stay in shape when I don’t have time to go to the gym.
The rooms are pretty good for what you pay for. Resident portal is kind of confusing sometimes. AC is really nice. Parking garage is really crowded because of all the retail in and out. Laundry isn’t included in rent which seems ridiculous cause utilities is.
The apartment building is pretty new and feels like too despite being almost a year old. Most residents are friendly and usually respectful during the night time, say for a few who cause noise during the night but only for a short time. The internet is good, especially if you are using an ethernet cable connected to say a computer or gaming console, but there are times where it goes out for hours but so far it has only happened once in the past two months. The amenities such as the gym and the study rooms are great. The location is also great, you are near many food markets and places. It is also good if you are a usual bus rider as the building is right along bus routes that lead straight to UH Manoa and they come very frequently. The only complaint would be the chance that you may have a few rowdy residents but they do a good enough job to put the noisy residents far away from the quiet ones.
Living here for the past 1.5months has been a good experience. I have two roommates in a 4bedroom floor plan and they are amazing! I think that the positive vibe that hale mahana has provided for us has allowed me to live here without any concerns or a negative experience.
these apartments are so great. Great friends. Great company. Great living. You’ll never find a better apartment if you’re a student. Yes it can be expensive but it comes with mostly everything and it’s well worth it
Few things to improve but it is overall a fun experience living in this type of community. It is the first year so it will take time to improve.
Needs improvement in staffing right employees.
Everything’s pretty alright, my neighbors next door can be loud though and nothing has been done to stop them from running up and down the hallway randomly. A maintenance request once took over two weeks, but it finally was completed. AC works great, beds are comfy.
Based on first impressions of Hale Mahana, I can't give higher than 3 stars. Their website provides an interface that is confusing to use, they are near impossible to contact via email, and the time difference from mainland to here makes trying to call them at appropriate times very difficult. Trying to schedule a tour left me talking to a staff member who told me that I probably wasn't the right fit for the complex, seeing as it was so expensive. Over summer, after having signed my lease, I called probably a total of 10 times to ask questions and get my living situation figured out. Each time I was told something different, was given incorrect email addresses, or told that I couldn't be told the information. Flash forward to move-in. Although the process itself was fairly painless, I walked into my new (small) apartment and was bombarded by sticky spots on all the furniture, broken appliances, hair and toe nail clippings scattered throughout, mold on the shower curtain, grease stains, overall just a disgusting presence, especially for such a new building. That being said, living here is a good transition from dorm living into actual apartment life. You are surrounded by mostly students, and the staff is good at hosting resident events (much like the dorms) to get you aquatinted with new people. It also has great amenities like the rooftop, gym, air conditioning, and computer lab. The maintenance requests from the first week were filled quickly and efficiently. Rent is expensive for the living space itself, but it is a nice place for location and area. After settling it, I do enjoy living here, but there is still lots to be improved upon.
Great spot! Great rooftop (by far my favorite part)!
Rooms smaller than expected; Common area small and the kitchen is Not a "full-size" kitchen. AC units could be maintained better and screens could be placed in windows to prevent bugs from flying in.
AC, private rooms, and bathrooms are great!
Staff and security really cool individuals.
Very easy and the staff was so helpful!!! They met me when I came at a strange time and helped me get oriented to the building and figure out the best plan for getting my stuff inside. Love them so much
The staff here has been rude to my roommate and I on several occasions, lying about what was said to one of us to the other. And there are so many fees and ways of milking us for our money. We were uninformed that we would be living with a 27 year old with a dog until we stepped into the apartment on move-in day, and we quickly became extremely uncomfortable. My roommate experienced allergic reactions to the dog, and I was disturbed by its incessant barking whenever its owner left it alone. When speaking to staff about my roommate's reactions, we were told that the manager needed days to revisit the problem, which was pretty unbelievable as the dog was posing a health threat. Then when my roommate went back to rediscuss these issues, the manager lied about what she had initially said. When we were finally switched, she waived my roommate's switch fee but not mine, which my roommate requested be divided between the two of us. After we moved in to the new apartment, we found the previous tenant's dirty towel in the bathroom, dirty food tray in the microwave alone with food stains and pieces of hair, and more. This was truly outrageous, seeing as we had to pay even more money to move into this room. When I went to speak to the manager, I brought up my concerns about her not waiving my switch fee even though I was inconvenienced by the dog and our new, gross room. She proceeded to lie to me again about having just brought down both mine and my roommate's switch fees 50%, when she had told my roommate that she just split my full fee between us. For these reasons, I am extremely disappointed. Not to mention the astronomical rent prices. Otherwise, the gym and printing room are helpful amenities, and it is definitely a cleaner apartment than others in the area.
Very clean and no complain!
The rent is a bit expensive, but if you live in a nice place like this, you can't move anywhere! There's a gym, all you can drink Starbucks, all coolers and WiFi! Close to university, many bus stops and really accessible! I can go to Ala Moana with no transfer and it is very accessible! I really recommend it
It is a nice building and feels secure. Although there seems to be a lot of crime in the downtown area I think having some jobs so close by is still very convenient.
Great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Packages are never lost. If I get locked out of my apartment there is always someone on call to help me out (:
Overall a great place to live. Great amenities including a full kitchen, laundry on every floor, a gym, and a printing room. Also plenty of options for dining downstairs and closeby.
Good overall community. Single rooms could be larger. Walls (within units, between bedrooms) should be thicker. Clean. Internet is a little unreliable.
I love living here. This is a perfect place to live at for my first year here at UH! I love how it has AC and there are a lot of close grocery shopping places. Seeing the sunsets are so beautiful and the view is amazing!
The location of Hale Mahana is very convenient for UH Manoa students! It’s also got a wide variety of food places to chose from that are close by!
I love how convenient and fun living here is! The amenities in the apartment are perfect size and look great with the modern theme! It is so much fun living with all my friends in such a beautiful apartment!
So far I have enjoyed my experience in Hale Hahana. I love how close it is to campus as well as many fun things to do. My least favorite part id have to say is how soft the walls are. I have accidentally dented them a few times already doing simple activities. This clearly isn’t a big deal but perhaps useful feed back. Over all the places are very clean and set up nicely for there small size.
My resident experience has been pretty positive. When I arrived to my apartment my room was clean. So far I have only put in one maintenance request and it was taken care of in a very timely manner and solved the problem.
Love the AC and the roof, it's a great place to live cause it's close to campus and lots of food and study hall. Security is nice as well as are the CAs
Great start to the year so far living here at hale mahana, very clean always and the service members are always nice. The amenities are also super clean and very accessible
The community is safe and clean. It is well secured and also the maintenance staff keeps the community so clean and welcoming. The night security is also very friendly.
The staff is extremely sweet and I love the rooftop where everyone in the building can hang out. They put together a lot of fun get togethers, like game night, make a samsubi, etc. Also, the ac in every room is a luxury.
love it here!! the staff and maintenance people are very friendly. it is a huuuuge upgrade from the UH dorm system. glad i made the switch. looking forward to leasing again
Got off to a rocky start as my apartment was not clean and had cat hair all over it, but the staff was very accommodating and fixed the problem within the first few hours that I notified them. Other than that, the noise is pretty loud sometimes as I am located near the elevator and face the parking garage, but the room is a nice size and the amenities are great.
I really enjoy living at Hale Mahana. It is a huge upgrade from living in the dorms on campus. Very clean and the staff is super friendly! I look forward to leasing again with Hale Mahana
Very nice facility however the ac units seem like they work perfectly sometimes and are lagging at other times. Also the rooms are very confined.
I love living in Hale Mahana because there are endless opportunities to succeed and meet new people. There are study rooms and printers that allow for success in school and work, there are community events that inspire new friendships, and the apartments are cozy and feel like home. Having a strong AC and yummy restaurants around isn't bad either!
So far, I really like living here. It is such a nice place and convenient to commute to school. It is so close to many stores as well. The staff are very friendly too.
It’s a great place to live. Everything is new and clean! I’m a student at UH and it’s so close to campus. There’s the local bus and the free UH shuttle service.
I love living in Hale Mahana! The rooms are super clean and well maintained. Even though it is located on a busy street, there isn't a lot of noise. This place is great for me to study, socialize and relax.
I always love the atmosphere when I walk in! Everyone’s always in a great mood! All the staff is really helpful! Best part about living here is coming home to AC!!
I have found living here very useful. It is near campus, and I love that it houses students from all over. I live on the lower floors of the campus, and I will admit that at night it is still loud from motorcycles, cars, sirens, etc. But I suppose that is city life. I REALLY like it that each room has its own AC unit that can go down to as low as 60°. The rooms are a good size. The only downside about my apartment is that it doesn’t have a dining table, so I have to hold my plates while I eat them, or bring them into my room and eat them on my desk. Other than this, I think this community has great potential!
Living at Hale Mahana has been a great experience so far. My roomate and I were just talking about how living in the on-campus dorms was so toxic for our mental health, and we are glad to now have a place we can call home. Everyone is super nice and helpful as well, and its nice to have security downstairs when living in a big city like Honolulu.
I love living here. I just think that the coffee station upstairs should be up-kept better. It gets annoying that there are always missing cups and the machine tends to usually be out of coffee/chia latte, etc.
Other than the coffee station I feel like everything else has been amazing! I have no true complaints!
Hale Mahana apartments feels like a home rather than a dorm/apartment. At the end of the day, I can’t wait to come back here to look at the beautiful sunset on the roof and chill in my AC! Love it here and would highly recommend to anyone.
When we first moved in we were placed with a roomate who had a large dog and it had gone to the bathroom all over the living room. Appalled by the condition we requested to move and the staff was very accommodating and put us with new roomates right away.
Hale Mahana is the best! A rooftop terrace and studying rooms, a gym on 14th floor are all cool and nice. There's also a computer room you can use a printer to print or copy something. Room condition is good and the building is clean. The best part of living here is you can get Raising Canes easily even than using Ubereats.
I enjoy the atmosphere of the place; it's a really great area to just hangout and chill with friends. The rooftop areas are always really accessible, and never overcrowded. I vibe well with my roommates. There is not much ventilation, though, so sometimes my towels from my showers or whenever I come back from the beach take awhile to dry.
The people in the apartment community is nice and although it's not home, it's comfortable to live in. It's also nice having an extra space on the 14th floor to hang out and go to the gym.
It’s really nice, I love the gym. I elliptical and lift weights a lot so it’s really convenient to have it in my own building, no need to purchase a gym membership! The roof top deck is also so great, I love lounging up there and looking out at the city or visiting with friends over the barbecue. The elevators are SUPER timely I love in a higher floor and I swear it only takes like 20 seconds to get to my floor, over all it’s a great community of people and I’m very glad I came to live in hale Mahana. Also, the AC is a GREAT amenity. One of my favorites
The community is fantastic. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I made many new friends at that rooftops. Also the weekly activities the apartment host let’s me meet all my neighbors.
Living here has been amazing! The AC, staff, and amenities are all great. The location is very convenient, I can get to campus in 15 minutes waking or take the shuttle. Love it!
Living here is really comfortable and convenient! Close to UH campus, close to food, air conditioning (!!), and nice rooftop terrace and gym. The only real complaint is the size of the fridge :(
Great complex, expensive though. rent covers majority of the “extra” things you may need to live (water, WiFi, electricity) but price still makes you question if it’s worth the money
It’s been a great experience. This is my first time getting my own place, and I’m glad I did it at Hale Mahana. The community is very nice and the workers are very helpful and patient.
Overall, the building and rooms are not nearly as nice as in the pictures advertised online. However, whenever I have a problem it is handled quickly
I enjoy it. It’s clean and nicely put together. Close to campus and good radius away from the beach. Nice food places near and it’s super beautiful.
Only down fall is the staff. Sometimes they’re not on the same page which makes it hard for residents to get accurate information.
Living at Hale Mahana has been very convenient and pleasant. I am able walk to school, grocery stores and restaurants. I lived here the last school year and have re-applied to live here for this school year again.
Everything is so clean and organized it helps take the stress off of college life. It was a scary decision to make the move, but probably the best decision I have made in my college career.
Though I have only been living here for a short time, I love the community of Hale Mahana! All of my neighbors and fellow residents are sweet and talkative, and I have yet to have an awkward elevator ride with a stranger. Many people are respectful and courteous to others, and I look forward to meet so many new people this year! The only room I see fit for improvement is the desk staff. The RAs (though I believe that Hale Mahana has given them different titles) are kind and smiling whenever I have reached out to the one-on-one, but I am not going to lie that move-in day seemed quite overwhelming for them. I am aware that this is only the apartment’s second year open, but move-in seemed cluster and stressful for everyone. Nobody was smiling or introducing themselves, and they all seemed flustered. Plus, the waiting time was quite long to get my key, despite having completed everyone correctly. There was a large miscommunication in regards to renter’s insurance which left most everyone, the residents and the RAs scrambling to find a fix last minute. Additionally, I was waiting nearly 35 min for a parking permit (despite having nobody in line in front of me the entire time), only for it to take 2 min for completing the form and picking up my permit. Additionally, one of the aspects about move-in day that upset me the most was when the students who had arrived a few minutes early were waiting outside, the staff came out to take a photo and nobody smiled or said welcome or anything. All of us were so excited and happy to meet them, and not a word was said. A simple, “Hi guys! We will be opening the doors shortly and are so excited to meet you! Thanks for waiting!” would have been beyond nice. Other than the few negative RA experiences, staff has been awesome at meeting accommodations and answering questions.
I enjoy it here. Nice living spaces and nice people. Great location.
I just wish that all the workers were on the same page. Often they all say different solutions to a problem or have no idea what to do.
Great! I like it so far I think my concern is the humidity of the rooms. Also I was not informed I was getting rooomates until the last day so I felt bad
Great place to live! study rooms and gym on the 14th floor. The distance to school and all utilities included are the biggest reasons I decided to renew my lease for a year. Majority of the time, Hale Mahana staff responds promptly to questions and concerns that I may have and works to resolve them.
Great place to live. Everyone is so welcoming and kind. The apartment has beautiful views of Manoa Valley and Diamond Head. I love living here!!!!
it is much cleaner than i thought. but there are too much keys to enter my room. i hope those keys are gatheres into one key. my old house has only one key.
I have so far enjoyed my experience at Hale Mahana. Everyone that I have spoked to about my new apartment and all the details have been super helpful and very kind as well.
Neighbors are nice and quiet. Friends have moved in so more convenient seeing them. Staff has been friendly and quick to help when in need. K
Great place to live in, every month there's a event going on there always fun, amazing service and costumer support. It's been an amazing experience here at hale mahana.
Communication with residents could be better, mold issues, ac issues, laundry rarely works, for the building to be new too many issues have arisen and sometimes the staff can’t give answers
I absolutely love living here. The only donwside is the rent - which all things considered is sti very high - but beyond that I love this place. Great location, great events, everything is new and clean, I love the gym, and how friendly everyone is.
Hale Mahana is very convenient if you are attending university of hawaii at manoa. It’s a 5 minute walk to lower campus and 10 to upper campus. I wish the rooms were a little bigger and the bathroom vents work.
friendly community that is very modern a & as well as having many activities within the apartment and close to enjoy right near the city and food location .
The staff and community is lovely, everyone is very kind and I feel safe at home. I appreciate that there is a maintenance staff that keeps the building clean and feeling like new. My air conditioning is one of my favorite parts of living here.
After doing a tour of the apartments, I can say that these offer the most comprehensive living experience near campus. They many amenities that not only make your life easier, but make it much more convenient to stay healthy and active, which is incredibly important as a student and young adult. Hearing from other friends living here, I can say that they take great care of their residents if there are any issues with rooms and such. It is also very quiet in the individual rooms, which is a huge bonus!
I’ve loved my experience here so far! I have always felt so welcomed by the staff and the residents! It’s clean, friendly & located in the best area!
So far everyone has been super helpful. Staff has been overly nice and helpful with all my questions. They get back to me on a more than reasonable time and have done the most to keep me happy.
great location, great apartment. i really enjoy living here and i am grateful for the desk staff and the security the community provides. it is all clean and well maintained as well!
I love living here. The staff, amenities and location are spot on. I love being able to walk to school, down to earth and starbucks new opening is extremely convenient.
I have had an amazing experience living at Hale Mahana since December 2018 as a graduate student at the university. All of the amenities are fantastic and useful, the community feels very safe, it is in a convenient location, and the building is maintained very well by the staff. It is the best student housing option by far and I have absolutely no complaints. I’d highly recommend renting here!
The Hale Mahana has been a Life Boat in a dangerous economic time for me. I came to Hawaii with only the money from the sale of my Home in Henrico Virginia and a hope for a career in CDL-A Cargo Shipping and Passenger transportation and Diesel Mechanics here in the Pacific. I also am currently working employment positions that will eventually build a Professional Security history to include when I apply to Local, State and Federal employment or their Civilian Contract affiliations. Such work is when Cargo or Couriers or Passenger Transportation involves extra security measures. I have very little money left to accomplish this and my academic aptitudes are facing adverse challenges. However; the Hale Mahana has provided an environment that creates access to the educational pursuit especially by the affordability while I move forward with the challenges ahead. I also appreciate the modern safety features of the building and the security.
It’s wonderful living here.. The roof top is worth spending your weekends with amazing food places near by. I would recommend this place to everyone.
So far it’s been great I love the atmosphere here. It’s a beautiful place and I love how it’s geared to fit students needs. There are great restaurants downstairs too.
So far so great. I really like the amenities available for all of the residents that are living in the building. Location is great as well!!
The apartment is great but my room is very small. I love having the rooftop and the gym. Great amenities along with the parking garage. Liking it here so far
It is such an ease to live at Hale Mahana. From the great apartment to the beautiful rooftop space to the community directly adjacent to the university—there’s nothing more you could ask for!
Hale Mahana is a good place to live in because it is close by the University of Hawaii at Manoa and there are many places nearby to grab food.
Hale Mahana has been a wonderful place to live. It is located close to campus as well as major bus lines — super clean and very friendly staff.
So far I've had a decent experience.
Two pros:The apartment is usually always clean and the location is super convenient for me.
Two cons: the rent is way to expensive compared to other apartments that also have the same amenities.
Maintenance never gets done or fixes anything.
Great place to live! I love using the new Starbucks machine, study rooms, and gym on the 14th floor. The distance to school and all utilities included are the biggest reasons I decided to renew my lease for a year. Majority of the time, Hale Mahana staff responds promptly to questions and concerns that I may have and works to resolve them. I had one question about designating a separate washer for people with animals only, but did not receive a response.
wish the floors weren’t concrete and didn’t get dirty easily, better ventilation. I like the amenities especially the roof. The printers come in very handy.
Being apart of Hale Mahana is so cool. The room it self is big and open, enough to have a few neighbors over. The community center on the top of the building is great as well.
Aside from the mold mishap at end of last semester, I have greatly enjoyed my time as a Hale Mahana Resident and all the amenities the complex offers.
I love the amenities this place has to offer and it is definetly a safe and clean place to live but my only complaint is that there are some people who work here who are not approachable and when I do ask them a question at the front desk it seems like an inconvenience to them.
My resident experience was good for the most part. Should fix the washing machines as they break or are out of service at least twice a month if not more. Other than that I loved it here.
I was impressed with variety of reward choices. They are really good and brands that everyone would need. I also liked the cash out option. I will keep using this service. It is perfect.
Hale Mahana is an overall nice apartment yet it has its down falls. A few things that I like is having my own bathroom, having a gym, and I enjoy the study rooms. I don't like how I pay $950 a month for amenities such as AC and suddenly my AC can't go below 75 degrees. I also don't like that they search my apartment when I am gone from break. I also know that it is not under the staff's control but my roommates cause a lot of problems in my life. I also find it frustrating that we pay a decent amount of money a month for parking when retail customers take up the parking garage and don't pay becuase the security system is STILL not set up and makes me question my safety in the building.
Nice apartments. A/C currently running hot due to new rules though which is kinda rubbish. Laundry facilities don't always work and have to stand and wait for them sometimes. Friendly and helpful staff.
Awesome place, love the gym but the seats on the benches need to get fixed. Views are nice too, and it’s very easy to bring friends over and hang out.
Overall I’d give Hale Mahana 3 stars. The amenities are excellent and it is in a convenient location to school and other necessary things. My only complaint would be the constant construction noise, the strict rules, and the price of the facility.
Everyone seems to keep to themselves around our floor. This is okay for me because I prefer that we keep to ourselves for the most part. The construction noise is a minor issue, as well as certain resident's lack of respect for the amenities around the apartments (i.e the lounge and trash).
Convenient location. Cooperative, caring staff. If you're creative, you can easily watch some amazing sun rises and sun sets. Costly, and with the transitory nature of the typical renters some of the residents seem callous, uncaring, conceited.
It’s pretty good I like the people I have a few issues with my roommates and the room is super small and the air conditioning is iffy sometimes. But otherwise it’s great
Love the sky deck, and living here. It’s so great! The rooms look a lot larger though on the website and on Instagram then how they actually are. The fridge is tiny.
Perfect student housing close to campus. The monthly rent is really expensive, but I prefer it to the UH dorms. Hale Mahana is a new fully furnished apartment with utilities included. I had trouble with the application/lease process, but the staff was able to help me out. I enjoy living here.
Hale Mahana is a great place to live. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The apartments are clean and beautiful — great location, super close to the UH Manoa campus.
So far my resident experience has been great! I love my apartment so much better than on campus housing! Love how my laundry is on my floor and how the staff is so nice!
The community at Hale Mahana is very helpful. Whenever there was an issue in my apartment that me or my roommates faced, the maintenance & staff helped us.
The experience that I lived here is currety awesome. From the people to the community and the environments, everything is peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, I’ll higjly recommend this place to my friends next term.
I believe that living here has made a huge difference in school work. It’s more quiet and away from all the partying. There’s also a lot of privacy versus staying on campus!
When I was looking around for apartments, I wanted to find a place that was affordable that allowed me to have my own personal space. Fortunately, I found Hale Mahana. So far the staff has been amazing. The one exception I would say that wouldn't get it a full 5 stars is that the building still had a few issues when moving in. Besides that I would recommend looking into moving here if you are looking for an affordable place to live on such an expensive island
Living here is great but really expensive, it’s close to campus but not close to many grocery stores. We were told there’s going to be food places downstairs but they’re still in construction. I’m only home to eat and sleep.
I love hows there's AC in Hale Mahana and not in the UH dorms. It's really spacy and a lot of room compared to the dorms as well. We have the best food with Pieology downstairs.
I really like it here but I don't have any roomates and they told me they would send me an email with their contact info if I ever got one. About a month ago someone mentioned to me I might be getting a roommate but I haven't received any email or anything and now I'm kind of scared some random person is going to come into my apartment without notice.
Overall, living at Hale Mahana is great. The rooms are modern, and living here is so much better than a dorm. The only thing that aren’t so good are that the paint on the walls is very cheap and flakes off, and some of the staff are not very nice.
I enjoy the community because it was an extremely convenient choice and the quality of housing is so much better than the student housing on campus.
Living at Hale Mahana has been a great experience! The staff is very kind and helpful. I recommend all my friends to check out living here because it is in an amazing location and the amenities that are offered are great as well.
So far the experience has been great! I really appreciate having security in the building and a cleaning crew. All of the staff at Hale Mahana have been so amazing!
Apartments are good, well designed and equipped with all facilities required by a student. I would definitely recommend my colleagues to stay here.
S K S.
Everything about it is literally perfect. My only complaints are how thin the walls are and how small the bedrooms are. Other than that zero complaints from me.
Love everything about this place. It will be better once more stores downstairs open up, and once the study room fobs are put in place. But really no complaints!
I enjoy this building and all that it has to offer despite the situations I have with my roommates. The rooms are nice and I enjoy having my own space in which I can study and relax. I love the 14th floor and gym.
absolutely love it here everything is so nice and its pet friendly and the parking garage fits my car so that's a bonus. only down side the rooms are super tiny
Hale Mahana has been a very good place to live, many of the CA's are very nice and approachable. The maintenance orders are normally fixed very quickly and efficiently
I like Hale Mahana. The staff prepares events/gatherings every week, this helps build the feeling of a community. Everything at the residence is well set up; however, it is a pity that some people seem not to take care of the common areas or take them for granted.
The building is super clean, we haven't had problems with our apartment. I like that it is pet friendly because that's really hard to find here. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The move in process was easy and efficient.
Hale Mahana is a great, brand new apartment building very close to UH Mānoa. However, there are still many areas they could work to improve on
I love the place. But with the maintenance and security in the past two months, I was surprised. Other than that the beauty of the view and amenities are great! Staff is on point and cares for the Student’s needs.
It’s been really nice living here. It’s news and mostly all the appliances work. Great view too. We have had some problems with the fridge but besides that it’s really nice
really well organized. haven’t had any issues since living here. good setup on the roof and everything. units work great. really enjoy staying here!
I love it here! It’s absolutely everything I could ever need all in one convenient place. I couldn’t ask for a better place to live or a better staff around me.
All around great experience in regards to the property, the room, the staff, and all the amenities. The residents here are all very friendly.
The People at the counter could be trained better. Somestimes they do not know answers to Questions or give answers that seem to be wrong or missleading
I absolutely love this apartment! The ammenities are incredible and they have activities every week! I have recommended to many friends, most of which will be signing leases soon!
The facility is great. Staff works well. Room is beautiful in particular bed is so good to sleep. Location is very good, five minutes to UHM by bus.
I’ve loved every minute of my apartment! Had a few issues with maintenance at the beginning but things have slowly been fixed and we’re almost completely set!
The building is a beautiful brand new build with very nice interior, however it is unfinished and I am often woke up due to the construction outside. The amenities offered here are amazing and well beneficial for students. I appreciate how many things are available to us. I do not like the laundry situation given that the machines will never read anyones cards. I also do appreciate that there has been two fire alarms already. I had places to be both times and was stuck outside waiting for it to be over to go back to my apartment and get what I needed. It seems very inconvenient for a lot of people. I love all of the fun activities that go on at the apartment! It provides many social events to meet people and have fun! Overall I enjoy staying here, there are just a few minor things that I don't like.
Hale Mahana is a convenient option if you don't want to hassle with living on campus at UH Manoa or living off campus. It is safe, reliable, and close to campus!
I really like the facility here, such as study room, gym, and computer room. However, some night people will play really loud music at night.
I love living here because of how nice and new everything is. The fact that all the utilities are included is awesome too! I only wish car parking were cheaper.
It’s nice. There’s lots of activities, the staff are great, it’s new, and it’s got air conditioning... what more could you ask for? Oh and did I mention it has air conditioning???
There’s something really great about Hale Mahana. I haven’t quite put my finger on it yet, but there’s something stand out about this building. Maybe it’s that it’s (thankfully) not Frear. Maybe it’s that no one has slept in my bed before, or that the pool table actually has felt. Maybe it’s that I have a semblance of control over my living arrangement and environment. But it’s probably that the 7-Eleven is 300 yards away, and there’s a Pieology in the building, and that I can get to a bus stop in under 2 minutes. Living here makes life so easy. It’s scary.
Hale Mahana is a great place to settle in for a student who is far away from home. It's not just a nice place to live, but it's also a community with good vibes.
I love all the amenities that Hale Mahana has to offer. I also love how close it is to UH Manoa and the fact that there bus stops, shuttle stops, and biki stations right out front.
Hale Mahana has been so awesome thus far! It's close to campus, there's a gym, study rooms, and the workers and assistants are so helpful :)
Living here is definitely worth the price I'm paying. The amenities are amazing and I love all the staff members! Hale Mahana is near UH Manoa, which is such a convenience.
Really nice place, kinda small but so comfy! Thanks for the spam filter lol. I love the roof a lot mainly, I need a tv tho haha. It’s a lot of fun though
Amenities (kitchen, a/c, etc): clean, up to date, and really useful.
Common spaces (lobby, gym, rooftop deck): welcoming, modern, and really like the availability
Staff: people that I call are useful, but the people at the front desk often give me misinformation/ tell me different information as other staff and are unwelcoming
Love it here! Nice not to have to spend extra on utilities, and could not live without the air conditioning. I spend a lot of time on the fourteenth floor, love the gym and the lounge chairs
It has everything I need and then some! I wasn’t excited to move here after living on my own but it proved to be worth it and I’m loving it!
I think the rent is too expensive, and there are way too many regulations, but I guess other things are fine. I like the updates we get when there’re hurricanes.
It is great here! Everything is so nice and really makes for a healthy living environment while I go to school. There are so many amenities that are available to me and it makes being a student easier!
Great location and nice staff, but I'm having trouble hearing back about a complaint I made. So they are slow on fixing problems. Love the study rooms, great for weekend study groups!
it’s nice to live in clean apartments, even though some stuff is still new & needs a little fixing sometimes. i love being close to the grocery stores and food places nearby, and it isn’t too far from school.
I like that apartment that I live in, Hale Manhana. I guess since it is brand new their is not much to complain about. It is very convienent to the campus and I feel pretty safe. The surrounding area can be a bit quite sketchy sometimes. I feel like the office staff could be a bit more accomendariong. Like one day My mom wanted to drop off a package at the front for me and they said they couldn't hold it and she would have to bring it up to my apartment- and other things of that nature.
Great experience at Hale Mahana, good location, community, and living conditions. Being able to cruise at the rooftop is a plus along with the 24 hour gym
I’ve really enjoyed everything Hale Mahana has to offer! It’s location is perfect for UH Manoa students and I’ve gotten to meet some pretty awesome people!
Its been great. The gym and study rooms come in handy when I need to study or workout. The studios have a kitchen which really is useful for my living experience
My resident experience has been great! I love all of the staff members they are super nice! Also, I love all the amenities I have here at Hale Mahana!
Josh De La Rosa is an amazing staff member. He should get a raise. He had given me the full complete tour of Hale Mahana apartments and I had fallen in love with the place. He is an outstanding worker and is there when you need it.
I enjoy the air conditioning and friendly environment. The rooms are very nice. The gym is amazing and convenient. All of the staff is friendly.
Very friendly environment and I feel very safe living at Hale Mahana. I enjoy having the gym so close and living with my good friends in a clean apartment.
Love the safety and cleanliness of this place! Super nice, love my apartment, don’t wanna go home!! The gym is amazing and the view is even better!
My experience has been great. Friendly staff and a beautiful building. I love the proximity to school. The Hui cars share has also been a great addition to all the amenities already included.
Everyone is so sweet and welcoming. I have had hardly any issue and if there is a slight issue someone will help you in a heartbeat. Overall I’d recommend this living space to anyone who decided to move to Oahu.
I really enjoy living at Hale Mahana! My roommates are really friendly and positive, the cleaners are doing a great job, the staff is always very helpful, and the facilities are great. I am also really happy that we now have better security then when I moved in, so we can feel safe here. The only thing I wold change is that I wish the kitchen had pans, plates and other utensils, because buying all these things, especially for us international students who are staying here for such a short time and are not able to bring it back, can get very expensive.

I love living in brand new apartments, with great furniture and appliances. Having an individual lease puts my mind at ease, as well as being able to have pets in the apartment! Great study areas provided, a full gym, and awesome rooftop lounge areas. Definitely a good choice to live at Hale Mahana!
So far I have been LOVING living here at Hale Mahana. Everything is so clean and new and there are so many places to eat around us as well as grocery shop. It’s a perfect off campus but close distance to school. I love the 14th floor but do wish that there were more study rooms
Great location, within walking distance from UH campus. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Near multiple bus lines, so it's easy to get around Honolulu. The apartment is immaculate and well kept.
Best place I’ve ever lived in! Awesome people. Great staff. Excellent service. Will fix things right away. Very clean and well kept. Fun lounge on the roof.
I love it. Perfect location. Staff are very quick in responding to questions and concerns. Neighbors are nice and respectful. Always clean in the hallways and security is on point.
So far most everything has been positive, but there are a few growing pains since it is a new building and construction on shops is ongoing.
The AC is great and the apartment is really nice, but the doors have trouble closing. Even after someone came to fix the doors, the issues still persist.
I love the style of the apartments and all the amenities included!! also the location is so perfect and I love having laundry facilities on each floor
Love living here, great CAs, my CA is amazing on the 4th floor, always helping out and making sure we are okay. Faculty in general is amazing, asked for shelves in our kitchen cabinets and got them within the hour.
Despite it being crazy and hectic getting everyone situated, the front desk staff have been great to the residences. They have been trying to get to our every needs, but it seems like there is just too much going on. Hope everyting settles in sooner than later.
I love it it’s friendly, seemingly safe and quite! I will definitely renew my lease next year without question! I will also tell others about this incredible, convenient apartment.
I really enjoy my resident experience so far. Great roommates, great place to live, amazing view from the roof, awesome CA, not much more you can ask more for honestly!
I love the Hale Mahana community! My favorite part is the Sky Deck. There are tables to study or eat on, couches that can fill all of your friends, study rooms with breathtaking views and a fitness center with a gorgeous view of Manoa Valley!
It was great and super easy to transfer. Have enjoyed working with the staff and was easy to apply. Still waiting on my room details, but know that will come soon.
The staff was super attentive and friendly with the arrangement regarding the apartment. A great big thanks and an extra big thumbs up for LaNiece J. Dillon who help me through the technicalities!
The staff is really nice, they were able to answer all of my questions. The show room looked amazing I am very excited to stay at Hale Mahana
I haven’t moved in yet, but so far the experience with this community has been amazing. The people working in the leasing office were so welcoming and helped to answer all of my questions
i have no stayed in the hale mahana apartments yet. However, i am super excited to see what there is! all of the advertisements look amazing!
Hale Mahana is a very welcoming environment and community. Every time I have a question about the apartments the employees are quick to answer them and are always extremely helpful.
Really Helpful setting up Lease! I got all my questions answered and also answered all of my parents questions even over phone. Cant wait for August !!!
